Hundreds of Park Fences in C. Jakarta Damaged

Many fences' irons are missing. If the condition is ignored, it will also damage the park, considering people easily get in the park

Hundreds of park fences in Central Jakarta are damaged and must be fixed. Those are on Jalan Diponegoro, Jalan Salemba Tengah, Jalan Cempaka Putih Barat, and Jalan Cempaka Putih Timur.

The damage is severe enough, because the fences have been porous and some are missing due to being stolen by scavengers.

Hafidz, (35), a citizen of Salemba Tengah admitted the damage has been in existence since last two years. But, until now, there has been no repair from Central Jakarta Parks Sub-Department.

"Many fences' irons are missing. If the condition is ignored, it will also damage the park, considering people easily get in the park," he lamented, Tuesday (6/24).

Responding on this matter, Head of Central Jakarta Parks Department Sub-Department, Jansen Saragih promised to immediately fix the damaged park fences. "We plan to fix them this year," he expressed.

He disclosed that some park fences will be not fixed this year, such as parks on Jalan Cempaka Putih Barat and Jalan Cempaka Putih Timur. "We'll fix them after normalization process is done," he added.

Additionally, the locals' role in maintaining the park fence is very important, thus the same condition can be prevented. "After being fixed, I hope locals can also maintain the park fences well," he expected.
